Emergenza holds regional competitions between bands. I made this poster for Groovy Judy, who competed in the San Francisco Bay Area competition. For the second-round poster, I wanted imagery that reflected the idea of emerging, so I went with a butterfly. I also wanted to create the illusion of a face, with the eyes in the wings, two accents for nostrils and the name Groovy Judy as the mouth.
